L. Clark Rouse, purveyor of all these goods, also ran movie shows at the Old Town Hall. His sheds were handy.

Dollar Day is mentioned on the Horned Rabbits page - it was hoped that a rabbit would be on display. We don't know if they managed that, but here's the typesetting machine that was on display: No room here for the whole story, but Percy George Pearce, the editor of the paper, was clearly proud of his Linotype machine. I don't blame him - Linotypes are way cool - apart from the melted lead fumes that the operator was exposed to.
And the post-dollar-day-mortem describes the weighing contest - in which the person weighing the most received a year's subscription to the Waterford Star. |
